SANUSI: Economic recession by the Nigerian Government

Extract from article

Hey guys, I know I haven't really been blogging much this past month. I have been occupied with other things in my life. Anyway, I just wanted to share this article a friend of mine sent to me today. It's really an eye opener and I think every Nigerian and Non-Nigerian should read this.

I am just going to paste the link instead of copying and pasting the article on here. It's a very interesting article delivered by the Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi at the 15th meeting of the Joint Planning Board and National Council on Development Planning.

It's really sad how things have gone southward for Nigeria. This article really opened my eyes to things that I have been overlooking in the past. Nigeria is such a blessed nation with so many resources and it's really depressing how we are at this stage that the Ghana Cedis which we used to insult before is of much more value than Naira.

What I really got from this article is that Nigeria needs more manufacturing companies. If we had more manufacturing companies to process all the raw materials we have in Nigeria instead of exporting them outside the country and then importing the finished products at a much higher cost rate than we sold its raw form, then Nigeria's economy won't be suffering now. I am not saying this is the only factor that's causing the Nigerian economy not to grow, other factors most especially Corruption needs to be tackled with to ensure the prosperity of Nigeria.

I hope so many people would read this article and learn something valuable from it, because there is a lot to gain from this article. Thanks for reading.....Cheers!!
