Melania Trump's RNC speech plagiarises part of Michelle Obama's DNC speech in 2008

Melania Trump's dress (a cotton silk off-white Roksanda "Margot" dress with bell sleeves and Christian Louboutin heels) to the Republican National Convention (RNC), Cleveland was absolutely beautiful and it sold out less than an hour after her RNC speech, Monday night, according to the high end retailer she purchased it from.

This was one of the highlights of her speech to RNC, Monday night. Another highlight was that a part of her speech plagiarised Michelle Obama's speech to Democratic National Convention (DNC), Denver, in 2008.

Below are the video transcription from Trump and Obama's speech, Monday night and 8 years ago, respectively.

Melania Trump, on Monday:

"From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily lives. That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son.

And we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow. Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them".

Michelle Obama, on August 25, 2008:

"And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them, and even if you don't agree with them.

And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and to pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children -- and all children in this nation -- to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them".

Maybe her parents raised her with some of the same values that both the president, Barack Obama and his wife were brought up with. After all, Michelle Obama did say she and Obama were raised with so many of the same values ¯\_()_/¯.

Despite the controversy over her speech, Monday night, she did try to add a softer tone to her husband's brand, saying "Donald intends to represent all the people....That includes Christians and Jews and Muslims. It includes Hispanics and African Americans and Asians and the poor and the middle class.....Donald has successfully worked with people of many faiths and with many nations".

  1. My dear I've watched the video and there is no way that the speech was not plagiarized. It was practically the same words in order. How's that a coincidence 😕
